External directional sign

External directional signs include map signs, main directional signs, and secondary directional signs. These signs assist the visitor on its journey from the University entry to a specific building.

Building signs are also part of external signage.

While map and directional signs have been designed and implemented for the Camperdown and Darlington Campuses the principles behind the design of the signs apply to all campuses. Consequently, the same signs will be used for other campuses as required.

For more information on external directional signs view the sign manual.

Building name signs

The function of this sign is to identify the building as a key element of the wayfinding process.
These signs are currently not compliant with existing building regulations. CIS is looking at redesigning these signs in 2009.

The future building signs will be accessible to visually and mobility impaired people, will integrate with the existing signs, and will include the building code and additional building information as required.
