Building Operations Management - 2000

Under constructionBuilding Operations Management (Bldg Opps) is a standard ARCHIBUS module, implemented in July 2000 with some modifications. Bldg Opps is a building maintenance module which helps in managing building operation issues by providing tools for monitoring maintenance and repair jobs, scheduling employees and outside contractors to perform preventive and corrective maintenance jobs, budgeting costs, and analysing all aspects of the building operations process. All plant items use the space data for location and service.
This module when implemented was customised to work like its predecessor, the ‘Dimple’ product. The phasing out of Dimple and the introduction of the ARCHIBUS Bldg & Opps module was a result of the recommendations from the Strategic FM review carried out in 1999.
This module is used mostly for the corrective maintenance aspect by all trades within CIS on all USYD campuses. With the outsourcing of the Services contracts the Bldg Opps is now used as the primary repository of corporate knowledge and all new service contractors are required to interface their systems with ARCHIBUS for a seamless and transparent operation for teh duration of their contracts.
