Trades Services

Trades Services supports, maintains and repairs the University's built environment and facilities.

The team undertakes both corrective and preventive maintenance work using authorised contractors across all building disciplines.

Please make requests for maintenance online through the e~Service Desk.

For urgent matters call the e~Service Desk on ext 17838 from 7:30am to 5:00pm.

All urgent requests outside of normal hours (5:00pm to 7:30am) should be made via Security on ext 13487. These requests shall be conveyed to the after-hours on-call team.


Fire system isolation
If you are carrying out work that may activate an alarm, (i.e. dust, smoke, excessive heat (welding) or changes in water pressure), the fire alarm system needs to be isolated.

To isolate the alarm, please raise a work request through the e~Service Desk, providing a minimum of two (2) working days notice, to arrange a technician to attend. An "Interruption Advice Notice" also is raised.


Fire safety
The University is covered by a network of fire alarm systems, monitored by a fire monitoring company, which then notifies the NSW Fire Brigade.

If you see a fire or smoke, inform NSW Fire Brigade by ringing "000". Then advise Security Services (ext 13333), and then if it is safe to do so, advise the inhabitants of the building. (Some buildings have break-glass units, which will activate evacuation systems.)
