Financial services

The Financial Services team provides CIS with the financial information needed to manage its business activities and achieve its strategic objectives.

Financial Services provides overall coordination and management of the CIS operating budget, responsible for handling over $200 million of expenditure per annum.

Financial Services is responsible for the accounting control of CIS revenue and expenditure, including all capital works, as well as maintaining the Project Management Systems and linkages with the University’s systems.

CIS maintains strong project governance over the numerous developments and upgrade works and critical to this, is a robust framework of systems, controls, reviews and reporting.

The team’s reporting goals are to provide:
- useful management information to operational business segments, including relevant benchmarks for service and performance standards
- the CIS Executive Team with the key performance indicators so that results can be managed and risks can be mitigated
- the University’s central finance unit with required financial data, progress reports and forecasts

Linking with the CIS CAD Systems team, Financial Services provides the finance and systems support to all CIS business units.
