Is the Manual following standards?
The manual complies with the Building Code of Australia (BCA) and the current Australian Standard AS 148.2 that specifies font type, font height in relation to distance, Braille and tactile text height, and contrast and luminosity.
Furthermore the manual follow some of the DDA guidelines specifying the use of Braille and tactile text for room numbers, being the room numbers the key to the wayfinding system, and best reference when searching for a room.
In addition to this, the University of Sydney will be developing information kiosks to be installed in key locations throughout the campus to assist the University community including people with visual or auditory impairment. The system will provide audio/visual information about the environment and the location of University facilities and staff.
