Where can I park?

A key part of the Campus 2010 vision is to reverse the invasion of vehicles and return the heart of the campus to pedestrians.

The University wants to continue offering the benefit of parking on the Camperdown campus as democratically as possible. However, it is inevitable that the extensive works being done to transform the campus will impact on parking in the short-term.

Once the Law School is completed with its underground car park, over 400 car spaces will be returned to the Camperdown campus restoring parking to the original levels.

The Shepherd Street car park, located behind the School of Information Technologies on Cleveland Street, provides free parking for University Parking Permit holders. It is a 10-15 minute walk or a five minute bus ride from the Quadrangle.

Bus service
A shuttle bus will run from the Shepherd Street parking station until further notice.

The bus will travel from the parking station to the Quadrangle and Fisher library on a continuous loop at about 10-12 minute intervals. You can catch the bus at Blackwattle Creek Lane at the Shepherd Street Gate (adjacent to the Aeronautical Engineering Building) with set downs at Madsen Building, Manning Road, The Great Hall and Fisher Library.

The service will be available in the mornings from 7am to 10.15am (except for public holidays). In the evenings the bus will run until 10.00pm Monday to Friday and until 5pm on Saturday and Sunday (in line with library closing times).

Disabled parking spaces are available outside the Madsen building on Eastern Avenue during Stage 1 of the Camperdown Public Domain works. Once Stage 2 starts the disabled parking spaces will be moved to the car park between the Madsen building and the City Road gatekeeper's lodge.

Broadway Shopping Centre
The Broadway Shopping Centre has a an early bird special that is $8.50 all day provided that you arrive between 7 am and 9.30am and leave between 4pm and 7pm. You can park for shorter periods with the first three hours free. There is a half-hourly charge after that. The Broadway Shopping Centre is opposite Victoria Park. King George V Hospital Car Park
Entrance is via Susan St next to the Page Building which is opposite the main entrance to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital on Missenden Rd, Camperdown. The cost is $5 per day and exact coin change is required.

St John’s College Car Park
Access is from Missenden Rd, Camperdown. St John’s have an early bird special of $8.00 per day before 9.30am and out after 3.30pm. The rate is $5 per hour at other times

The parking spaces map and chart gives full details of the changes and overall impact on parking of the Campus 2010 project. On completion of all the works, only 2 car spaces will not have been replaced with alternative spots on the Camperdown campus.
